Violence Prevention Network gGmbH (hereinafter referred to as “VPN” or “we”) operates the website available online (hereinafter referred to as the “website”) at https://www.vpn-akademie.de/ and the related subdirectories.

This privacy policy explains to you which data is processed and in which form when you visit our website. By doing this, we also comply with our obligation to provide information according to Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Collection of general data and information

We generally do not collect or store personal data when you visit our website, unless you actively send it to us. Without prejudice to the principles above, the web server of our host does automatically register access to the websites and your IP address in particular. It is necessary to process your IP address in order to offer you our website and is therefore included in our legitimate interest to make our information available to you (point (f) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR).

We generally do not share the data collected with third parties. However, we do use a technical service provider to process the general data and information that is collected during your visit to the website for hosting the website and performing all necessary data processing operations.
4. Contact options on the website

We give you the option of contacting us on our website. You can either establish contact by using the contact form, in which you must enter at least your name and telephone number, as well as by e-mail. If you send us an e-mail, your email address, your name, telephone number and the content of your message is disclosed to us at a minimum. We store the messages we receive in this way for a period of 3 years after we have answered your enquiry and no other legal or other communication relationship has developed between us. We store the data for the purposes of archiving, documentation and transparency in case you get in touch with us again. These purposes also include our legitimate interest (point (f) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR).

We process this data using our email service provider in order to reply to your enquiry. Furthermore, we may use other service providers to process the data, however these are generally IT or communication service providers.

5. Internet technologies

Cookies

Cookies are placed when you use our website. These are small files that are stored on the device you use and through which the website that places the cookie receives certain information. Cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses onto your computer. They are used to make the website more user-friendly and effective overall. We use both session cookies, which are erased once the browser session has ended, as well as persistent cookies, which are stored for a certain period of time. Google Tag Manager

We use the service Google Tag Manager on our website, which manages website tags. Tags are small code elements on our website that are used for measuring traffic and visitor behaviour, analysing the effect of online advertising and social channels, for remarketing and focusing on target groups and testing and improving the website. Tags can come from Google or third-party providers. The Google Tag Manager does not access the data collected using the tags, it is only used to manage the data. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provider of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses the cookies mentioned above. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We have activated IP anonymisation on this website, which means that your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contract states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before it is transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

Google uses this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports about website activities and to provide us with other services associated with the website and internet use.

The IP address transmitted from your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API, a map service of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA to display an interactive map. When you use Google Maps, you transmit information (including your IP address) directly to a Google server. If you are logged in to your Google account, Google also uses cookies to provide you with personalised functions. We have no influence over this data processing. The legal basis for using this service is point (f) of Art. 6 (1) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the additional convenience that we offer our users. We do not store any personal data in this context.

6. Rights of the data subject

The General Data Protection Regulation guarantees you certain rights that you can assert against us if the legal requirements are met.

Art. 15 GDPR – right to information: You have the right to obtain from us confirmation as to whether your personal data is being processed and if so, which data and the particular circumstances of data processing.

Art. 16 GDPR – right to rectification: You have the right to obtain from us without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you. Taking into account the purposes of the processing, you shall have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement.

Art. 17 GDPR – right to erasure: You have the right to obtain from us the erasure of personal data concerning you without undue delay.

Art. 18 GDPR – right to restriction of processing: You have the right to obtain from us restriction of processing.

Art. 20 GDPR – right to data portability: You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us for the purpose of consent or for performance of a contract, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit this data to another controller without hindrance from us, or to have the personal data transmitted directly to another controller, where technically feasible.

Art. 77 GDPR in conjunction with Sec. 19 BDSG (Federal Data Protection Act) – right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority at any time, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement if you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes applicable law.

7. Right to object

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to the processing of your personal data that is necessary due to our legitimate interest or for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority.
